Team Ignacio House Takes on the TD Five Boro Bike Tour!

This past month, staff, resident scholars, and volunteers rode in the highly anticipated 2023 TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Our team of over 15 riders joined thousands of other cyclists from around the world on a challenging but exhilarating 40-mile trek across New York City's five boroughs.

Starting near the World Trade Center in Manhattan, our riders displayed immense strength and determination throughout the journey. Almost all completed the full 40-mile ride which finished off in Staten Island. This significant accomplishment was met with cheers of support from countless community members and supporters who lined the route.

Following the completion of the race, a delightful victory dinner was held at Ignacio House. Thanks to the immense generosity of the Bastianich and Manuali families, our resident scholars, volunteers, and staff relished in a joyous celebration of their achievements over delicious food and under the warm springtime sun.

A special word of gratitude is due to our resident scholars and Young Executive Board members, notably Vivian, Lorenzo, and Goziem, who were instrumental in making this event possible. Their collective efforts saw us not only meet but exceed our fundraising goal which will allow us to further our mission of transformation behind and beyond the prison walls.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who made this momentous event a resounding success. This includes our dedicated team of riders, the Bastianich and Manuali families, our wonderful supporters, and generous donors. We eagerly look forward to next year’s race!
