Thrive For Life Celebrates Holy Week and Easter!

Thrive For Life is delighted to share our recent Holy Week and Easter festivities, which brought our community together in reflection, gratitude, and celebration.

Our Holy Week journey began on Holy Thursday, when we had the privilege of attending the Mass of the Lord's Supper at St. Patrick's Cathedral. His Eminence graciously invited our resident scholars from Ignacio House to take part in the foot washing ceremony, a powerful reminder of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples at the Last Supper. As the Mass came to a close, Robert, a current resident scholar, presented the Cardinal with an original painting inspired by the Gospel accounts of the Last Supper. This act of reverence and creativity allowed us to embrace the spirit of Holy Week as a united community.

On Good Friday, Thrive For Life continued its spiritual journey by participating in the Via Crucis alongside hundreds of New Yorkers. We walked together to commemorate the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on the Passion of our Lord. At the 12th station, Luke and Megan, two cherished mentors from our community, had the honor of reading a passage that recounted Jesus entrusting His spirit to the Father. Their heartfelt reading reinforced our commitment to walking in the footsteps of Jesus, just as we strive to do every day.

The culmination of our Holy Week celebrations took place on Easter Sunday at Ignacio House. Our vibrant Thrive For Life family – including resident scholars, mentors, staff, and volunteers – gathered to rejoice in the Resurrection of Christ. We attended Mass together and later enjoyed a delicious brunch, sharing in the joy and hope of Easter. This special day served as a reminder of the transformative power of love and faith, which lies at the heart of our mission.

As we look back on this meaningful week, we are grateful for the opportunity to deepen our spiritual connections and celebrate the Easter message of renewal, hope, and new beginnings. From all of us at Thrive For Life, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us in these beautiful celebrations.
