Supportive housing for formerly incarcerated individuals
Located in the Bronx, Ignacio House is a house of studies for up to 24 formerly incarcerated individuals. It is the physical manifestation of the Thrive For Life community’s commitment to all people reentering the community from jail or prison. Hospitality, education, and job training are essential to adequately accompany formerly incarcerated individuals.
Thrive for Life has strategically grounded Ignacio House programming on the successful 20-year history of the Cristo Rey Network’s secondary school paradigm, which combines an extraordinary education with corporate work experience.
Ignacio House is not a shelter.
It is a warm, inclusive, and diverse community of hospitality. All residents respect our home and assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the property.
The house provides three interdependent services:
Community: access to a safe and stable living environment with private bedrooms.
Supportive living services: access to opportunities for life coaching
Wellness mentoring: access to medical and mental health care
Spiritual mentoring: access to tools for holistic growth and development.
Qualified residents are eligible for scholarships to local universities and colleges
Local employers will provide workforce training and job opportunities
