For its 3rd consecutive year, Thrive For Life Prison Project is proud to walk on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the Annual AIDS WALK NYC.
This year, we are excited to combine our effort and walk in collaboration with the Church of St Francis Xavier in Manhattan. We are partnering with St. Francis Xavier because of their leadership in the neighborhood on supporting AIDS Victims for more than 30 years.
Each year, an estimated one in seven persons living with HIV pass through a correctional or detention facility. The rate of HIV among prisoners is 5 to 7 times that of the general population. Thus, HIV/AIDS is an important issue for our community behind and outside the walls.
Any money donated on our page will to support the Gay Men Health Crisis (GMHC), the world’s first and leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy. Each year, GMHC serves more than 14,000 individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDs or HIV/AIDS related issues.
Please help us by contributing to these essential services by supporting our team. In 2017, thanks to your generosity, Thrive For Life raised $1,000. In 2018, we raised $1,500. This year, our goal is to raise $3,000. With your help, we can make this a reality!
